Take in a deep breath.

Lord, I invite you into my home and heart and ask that you reveal your truth to me as I seek you and wage war on the lies harming my mind, body and spirit. Please let me encounter your manifest presence today, I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Psalm 30:11

“You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy”

Psalm 34:17-18

“I cry out, and the Lord hears me; he delivers me from all my troubles. The Lord is close to me when I’m brokenhearted and saves me when I am crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 40: 1-2

“I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand”

Psalm 46:1-3

“God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore I will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.”

Even in the scariest and darkest moments of my depression, when my world feels as if it is falling apart, God is with me. He is strengthening me and leading me safely through this season. The Lord is comforting me in the midst of my suffering and will deliver me from this trial.

Psalms 55:22

“I give my burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of me. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”

Psalms 27:14

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, I wait patiently for the Lord.”

2 Corinthians 4:18

“So I don’t look at the troubles I can see now; rather, I fix my gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things I see now in my life will soon be gone, but the things I cannot see will last forever.”

God is refining my character and working out beauty in my heart and soul. I will not focus on the troubles I can easily see in my life, but will choose to take every thought captive to the foot of the cross and focus on the good God is working out in me because what he is doing is for all of eternity. My hope is in heaven.

Isaiah 40:31

“When I trust in the Lord, I will find new strength. I will soar high on wings like eagles. I will run and not grow weary. I will walk and not faint.”

Isaiah 41:10

The Lord himself says to me, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

God my Father is with me: strengthening me. I have no reason to fear what may come my way because he will enable me to be victorious and make it through whatever battles I may face.

Matthew 11:28

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

I don’t have to ever pretend with Jesus, he accepts me as I am and desires to give me rest from my heavy burdens. Jesus can handle the heavy pain and despair I bring to him today.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“Praise be to the God and Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts me in all my troubles, so that I can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort I myself receive from God.”

Deuteronomy 31:8

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of me. He will be with me; he will neither fail me nor abandon me.”

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Even in the midst of my darkest days, I know that God will see me safely through them because God's plan for my life is for good, to give me a future and a hope. When I surrender to God’s will, I walk into the good future he has planned for me.

Joshua 1:9

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord my God is with me wherever I go.”

2 Timothy 1:7

“For God has not given me a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

When I choose to walk in Christ’s redeeming power, love, and self-discipline, I am able to banish the demonic attacks of fear and timidity.

Romans 8:38-39

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord.”

Romans 8:28

“And I know that God causes everything to work together for my good because I love God and I am called according to his purpose for me.”

Nothing in my life can separate me from Christ’s deep and profound love. He says that he knows everything I have ever done or will do and yet loves me. I know that because of his intimate love for me, he is working all of my circumstances out for my good, even though they do not feel good in this moment.

Romans 15:13

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
